I have had the privilege of knowing this man for over 40 years and have watched him in action, trying to capture the details that only an artist can see.
Don Day does not focus or concentrate on talent shows or competitions. His heart and his passion is in the wild, where he naturally finds the wildlife he loves to capture with his camera and sketch pad. However, in his earlier years, Don Day was in competitions, with hundreds of entries, and he walked away with first prize in one or more categories, every time. He has drawings and art with many of the top named companies and businesses in the country. Don Day’s art, can still be found on many items in their stores, in almost all states, especially the outdoor type companies.
From the Northeast to the Carolinas, and from the Dakotas to the Rockies, Don Day pours his talent into his work. He has photographed buffalo, wolves, deer, bear, moose, and others too numerous to mention. He travels to the specific area for any particular reason, he sees the opportunity, and he captures the moment. His camera begins the process and his art studio will complete the finished product.
